Are you tired of spending your hard-earned money on presents that get played with briefly and then tossed aside? Keep in mind that toys are not the only type of gift that your kids love to receive. The next time you are shopping for a birthday, holiday or other special occasion, try thinking outside the proverbial toy box. You will discover many creative, non-toy gift ideas sure to surprise and delight children of all ages!
The sun is shining, and we’re all excited to get outside and enjoy the warm weather. One of my favorite activities in the summer is visiting one of the outdoor pools or splash pads around the city. It’s a great way to keep cool while enjoying the summer weather. Pool parties can be a great party theme for all ages. It’s a theme that teens still love, but it’s fun for the younger kids too. My son’s first birthday party was held at a pool, and all of the parents were invited to go swimming with the kids too. A pool party goes with all sorts of water-themed parties like a Shark Party, Mermaid Party, Beach Party and more! For this party, I mixed in a few different pieces to help your party brainstorming.
Did you have a lemonade stand as a child? For many of us, that lemonade stand was our first business. When lemonade stands start popping up in your neighborhood, you know that Spring has officially arrived. A fun party theme for kids is a Pink Lemonade party filled with delicious treats! If the Spring weather cooperates with your party plans, this would be an excellent theme for a garden tea party. If the weather is still a bit too cool for outdoor parties, check your local listings for a greenhouse where you could host a children’s tea party.
So you don’t have time to plan and prepare the perfect birthday party? Don’t despair. There are lots of fun places to hold parties away from home that will save you time in planning, preparation and clean-up. Most importantly, your birthday child and guests will have a blast!
