We all want our kids to be healthy. And part of staying fit is staying active. Sports are a great way to keep kids moving while building their social bonds and building their self-confidence. As a child, if you were outgoing and loved soccer, that may now be your go-to choice for your child – but maybe they are more interested in swimming or tennis. So which sport do you choose for them?
Helping a child develop a life-long love of sport is a valuable gift. The right sports camp or program will define a child’s interest in sports during their growing years, and provide a positive experience that they will always carry with them.
You signed your child up for soccer or hockey, and then the league sent you an email: ‘We need coaches!’ Maybe you had never coached kids’ sports before, and you thought it might be fun to coach. Maybe your coaching credentials are as long as your arm, and you counted down the days to when you’d be able to take to the ice and coach your Timbit. Either way, you were excited to help out and have been coaching ever since.
Winter is here, and you have two choices for how to deal with the next four (or more!) months: Embrace the snow and ice and find a way to enjoy the season or hibernate and wait for spring. Getting outside in winter raises your spirits, boosts mental wellness, and keeps you physically fit. It’s a win-win for both body and mind. Read on for five winter sports my family enjoys that yours will enjoy, too!
