The summer has passed by more quickly than you thought, and now you may be panicking because you are sending a child to Kindergarten. Are they ready? Are you ready? Kindergarten is one of the largest milestones in a young child’s life, and you want to ensure you and your child transition smoothly.
Kindergarten is the start of an exciting adventure full of promise for children and their families. At the Calgary Board of Education (CBE), we understand that children bring their own unique talents and gifts to their learning experience, which is why we personalize students’ learning to help them reach their full potential. In the early years, personalized attention can make a meaningful difference in children’s lives. That is what sets Calgary Board of Education early learning programs apart from the rest.
It’s hard to believe how fast the first five years go by, and now the time has arrived for your child to start school. Most children start Kindergarten when they’re four to five years old, and they start Grade 1 when they’re five to six years old.
Even though my kids are teenagers now, I still remember those first days of school as I tearfully watched them get on the bus and head off to Kindergarten. Sigh, it goes by so fast… If your little ones are just starting school, they (and you!) might be a little nervous about this new experience.
